Lost Worlds of Alabama

Alabama is home to some of North America's most impressive prehistoric civilizations and archaeological discoveries. From the shell mounds along the coast to the grand Moundville Mound Complex containing earthen pyramid mounds and central plazas, Alabama has a variety of sites second to none.

Alabama was also a state whose native peoples first came into contact with Europeans. It is from these encounters that we have our first written historical accounts of civilizations that are today lost and unknown to most modern people.

LostWorlds.org is currently planning many new exhibits for Lost Worlds of Alabama which will reveal these ancient and exotic civilizations to the public through the use of advanced interactive technologies. We are currently looking for grants to help us with our goal but you can help too. By making a donation you will ensure that the Lost Worlds of Alabama exhibit becomes a reality. In the mean time visit our first exhibit "Public Indian Sites of Alabama"  to discover the many important sites that this southeastern state has to offer.
